- Straight-line or deburr metal with a single pass
- Graining or decorative finishing is a great application for a SuperBrush sander. This can be accomplished using a nylon or flatter style brush. The best brush choice will depend on desired appearance, condition of the material before brushing, type of material and plating or painting, if any.
- Light de-burring can be accomplished on many materials by utilizing an aggressive wire or nylon brush and can compliment the wide belt sanders as a second step to radius edges and remove secondary burrs left by belt sanders.
- Light de-slagging or dross removal can be achieved under certain conditions with an aggressive wire brush. The material usually needs to be softer or the slag less attached for wire to accomplish this task. Wire brushing is a great second step after initial de-slagging with a wide belt.
- Polishing & buffing metal is accomplished using either nylon or Scotch-Brite® heads. This is a great way to bring out the sheen of a surface or finish.
- A modified version of straight lining is accomplished using the brush sander and a nylon or flatter style brush. The brush will generate less heat and better conform to slight differences in thickness and the brush will have a much longer life than compared to abrasives on the wide belt.
- Cleaning and de-scaling can be done with nylon, flatter or wire brushes, depending on the degree of contamination removal and the base material.
- Scuff sanding and primer sanding (base coat sanding) are easily accomplished with either nylon or flatter style brushes. This is much faster and more consistent as compared to hand sanding or scuffing.
- Oxidation removal is accomplished with aggressive wire or nylon brushes, unless very deep when a wide belt is required.
- Sample testing available and encouraged
Note: The SuperBrush 36 x 2 offers a full range of brushing from all angles in a single pass with counter rotating and variable speed brush heads. The conveyor feed rate is also double the speed of single head brush sanders, making this model up to 4x faster than single head models.
